New News

Just found out some new information about the adoption.  Sometime next week, Petouchka will officially because the newest Rogers in the family.  The more significant news is that we could, in theory if everything goes smoothly, have Petouchka here, with us, in the neighborhood of eight weeks.  Six weeks for the US visa process and a couple of weeks to get everything coordinated.  During this time, Petouchka should be getting her Haitian passport.  When all this is completed we go to Haiti; visit the US embassy there to pick up the appropriate paperwork; then bring her home. We were initially thinking that we would have her sometime in June so this updated timeline is a big surprise.  Now my plan is to cram as much Kreyol into my head as I can so I can be more helpful in helping her adjust to life here. Fortunately, Kreyol is not an overly complex language so my major focus is learning vocabulary.
